After finishing my mechanical engineering degree, and before settling into the world of work, I headed off to Canada to train as a ski instructor. It was there in the mountains that I discovered just how motivating it can be to help people learn a new skill.

When the snow melted, I came back to the UK and took up a project management role with HSBC on their global airport branding project. It was a fun and rewarding year, but something was missing.
